Classification of jaw fractures

Maxillary fractures are divided into maxillary fractures and mandibular fractures depending on the location of the fracture, and maxillary fractures are divided into Le Fort I fractures, which are called low or horizontal fractures of the maxilla. Le Fort II fractures are also known as medial maxillary fractures or tapered fractures, and Le Fort III fractures are also known as high fractures or craniofacial separations, which are often associated with skull base fractures or craniocerebral injuries. The mandibular fracture has four favorite sites, which are the median coalition, chin hole area, mandibular angle, and condyle. The fractures can be classified as single fracture or multiple fractures depending on the site of fracture.
