Sleeping with a pad under the waist is seen in patients with straightened or retroflexed physiological curvature of the lumbar spine. Patients who have been bending over for a long time to bear weight and sitting and standing for a long time will cause the physiological curvature of the lumbar spine to straighten, thus triggering a series of clinical manifestations. Patients can correct the physiological curvature by sleeping on a hard bed, and at the same time can put a pad or pillow under the waist to promote faster recovery of the physiological curvature, but the application time of the pillow or pad should not be too long. Patients can choose to put a cushion or pillow under the waist before going to bed at night, and then lie flat on it for about half an hour each time to promote faster recovery of the physiological curvature of the lumbar spine. It is not recommended that patients put a pillow under the waist while sleeping, because the lumbar spine will be under the pressure of the pillow when turning over, resulting in lumbar imbalance causing lumbar pain.
