Fluconazole is commonly used in the treatment of mycosis fungoides, but the duration of the medication depends on the severity of the patient’s condition and cannot be generalized. Fluconazole is usually administered 3-5 days after menstruation for a course of 1 week, depending on the severity of the vaginitis. If the symptoms of mycosis are mild, some patients can be cured in 5-7 days and most patients can be cured in 2 courses of treatment with this drug. In severe cases of mycosis vaginalis and in patients with poor resistance, the duration of treatment should be extended and may take up to 3 courses of treatment, whether topical or oral. In addition, sexual intercourse is forbidden during the treatment period to avoid infection to sexual partners, and it is recommended that both spouses undergo treatment at the same time.
