Ultrasound usually recommends holding 200ml of urine, but it also varies depending on the size of the bladder. Generally it needs to be held until it is more urgent but can still be held.
Clinically, urinary ultrasound often need to hold urine, the purpose of holding urine is to be able to more easily see the bladder, the prostate behind the bladder, as well as the examination of the uterus, ovaries and other structures.
The walls of the bladder are very smooth when urine is held in, so you can clearly see if there are growths on each wall, and you can scan the bladder for stones and tumors; the bladder walls are full so you can see if there are fibroids in the uterus and ovarian cysts in the ovaries.
In order to make the bladder full for examination, it is generally recommended to drink 6-8 glasses of water between half an hour and an hour before the examination, i.e., hold it to a more urgent degree, but still be able to hold it, when lying down, there is a slight bulge in the abdomen and present a shallow arc, when applying pressure can be tolerated, and can be sunken.
However, it is not recommended to hold too much urine. Overfilling of the bladder will compress other organs in the pelvis, which will lead to deformation and displacement of organs, and may conceal diseases such as uterine fibroids.
It is recommended to go to a regular hospital for ultrasound examination and timely treatment if there is any abnormality.
