Where the esophageal stricture site is located

The location of the part of the esophageal stricture varies from person to person because the exact position from the incisors is different for each person. In general terms, esophageal strictures are divided into three segments: upper, middle, and lower. To be more specific, the first location of esophageal stricture is the entrance to the esophagus, which is about 15 cm from the incisors. The middle part of the esophagus, which is about 25-27cm away from the incisors, is prone to esophageal cancer. The third location is the junction of esophagus and stomach, also known as the cardia, which is about 45-55cm away from the incisors, and the cardia of esophagus is prone to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or esophageal hiatal hernia (Hiatal hernia), which is characterized by frequent episodes of unrelieved and induced esophageal cancer.
