What’s going on with the lack of appetite and nausea?

Lack of appetite with nausea may be a normal physiological phenomenon such as pregnancy, high temperature, etc., or it may be a manifestation of certain diseases, such as acute gastroenteritis, liver dysfunction and so on.
1. Physiological phenomenon:
(1) Pregnancy: If women of the right age experience delayed menstruation, loss of appetite, nausea and other symptoms, they may have an early pregnancy reaction.
(2) High temperature: A high temperature environment can stimulate the body’s thermoregulatory center, causing the body to have a strong sense of rejection of hot food, leading to a decrease in appetite as well as nausea.
2. Disease factors:
(1) Acute gastroenteritis: eating unclean food, eating raw and cold food may lead to acute gastroenteritis, patients may appear nausea, no appetite, often accompanied by diarrhea, vomiting and other symptoms.
(2) Hepatic impairment: Impaired liver function and hepatic hypoplasia caused by various reasons may lead to decreased clearance function of the liver and elevated ghrelin, which in turn may lead to loss of appetite, nausea, and fatigue, etc. Lack of appetite accompanied by nausea may also cause symptoms.
