Is an inner ear MRI the same as a brain MRI?

Inner ear MRI and brain MRI are not the same. 1. Inner ear MRI: It can examine the vestibule, semicircular canals, cochlea and other fine structures. It can also show the structure of the internal auditory canal. Auditory neuromas less than one centimeter in diameter can also be examined. Generally, for unexplained tinnitus, inner ear MRI can be used. 2. Brain magnetic resonance: it can check many kinds of lesions in the brain, and is mainly used for checking brain tumors, encephalitis, brain necrosis, craniocerebral congenital developmental malformations, craniocerebral trauma, etc. In the process of brain magnetic resonance scanning, it can show the structure of the inner auditory canal. The brain MRI scanning process can observe the structure of the ear, but since the head MRI is mainly to observe the intracranial structure, the distance of the layers of the scan is relatively large, and it is not able to finely examine the diseases of the inner ear canal. Inner ear MRI and brain MRI are very different in terms of what they examine, and patients need to choose the appropriate test under the guidance of their doctor.
