Precautions for Breast McMurdo Surgery

McMurdo is also known as minimally invasive breast surgery. McMurdo can remove breast masses in a short period of time, which is less invasive, safe, reliable, less painful, time-saving and easy. In order to make patients better understand this surgery and better cooperate with treatment and care, doctors and nursing staff need to provide preoperative psychological guidance before surgery to eliminate fear and nervousness about surgery and accept the surgery with calm and optimistic mood; moreover, patients and their families need to be instructed to master the following related knowledge to reduce the occurrence of postoperative complications. Precautions before surgery: 1. To reduce bleeding and wound healing, avoid the week before menstruation and menstrual period as much as possible. 2. Anticoagulant or blood-stasis-activating drugs or foods are prohibited one week before surgery (if you must take them because of underlying diseases, you need to communicate with the attending surgeon). Postoperative precautions: 1. A chest band with pressure is often required for 2-3 days after surgery to prevent hematoma formation. Within one week after the removal of the chest band, please use a tight bra as much as possible to facilitate breast shaping and reduce wound pulling on the affected side. 2. If there is local bruising after surgery, please do not be nervous, usually the bruising can completely subside after 2 weeks. 3.To prevent wound infection, keep the wound clean and dry after surgery, please do not take a bath. Generally, it is appropriate to change the medication 2-3 times within one week after surgery. After one week, the main surgeon will review the wound healing situation in the clinic. 4.A week after surgery, avoid stimulating food, pay attention not to eat anticoagulant or blood-stasis activating drugs or food, do not drink alcohol to avoid causing re-bleeding at the surgical site. 5, generally about 7-10 working days after surgery, receive the pathology report, and the main surgeon outpatient follow-up, ask follow-up treatment and follow-up questions. If the pathology report is delayed, it may be related to the lesion being difficult to detect by ordinary methods, and if necessary, additional payment for testing is required for further testing. 6. Do not lift heavy objects and avoid strong upper limb movements (such as playing badminton, etc.) for 1 month on the affected upper limb. External rotation of the shoulder joint should not be too large, and mild activities do not affect the healing of the wound. 7. For some patients with larger lesions, mild skin depression may occur after surgery, but generally the breast tissue will regenerate in about a month and will not affect the aesthetics. 8. Benign lesions have the possibility of recurrence, self-examination once after each menstruation and regular outpatient follow-up in 3-6 months. Ultrasound examination is feasible after six months.
