Post-operative incisional considerations for epilepsy patients

The epilepsy surgery incision is usually removed 6-7 days after surgery. The incision should be kept dry and should not be exposed to water, and it is not suitable for immediate hair washing. After the stitches are removed, you can use a wet towel to gently wipe off the dandruff and scabs on your head; 1 week after the stitches are removed, you can wash your hair with water: at this time, you should wash your hair gently and not scrub the incision with force to avoid tearing the incision, because the healing of the incision is not very strong within 1 month after surgery; after 2 months after surgery, the healing of the incision is stronger and you can wash your hair as normal. Some patients think that not washing their hair after surgery is safer and more conducive to the healing of the incision, but in fact it is not. It is still necessary to keep the head hygienic and clean. As long as the action is gentle, it will not affect the healing of the incision, and even facilitate the healing of the incision and reduce the occurrence of scalp infection.
