Symptoms of pediatric pertussis

Pediatric pertussis is a respiratory disease in children that often develops between the ages of 1 and 6. The disease has a long cycle, taking about 100 days, and has the following four periods: 1. Incubation period. This period is generally the primary stage of whooping cough, and parents basically do not see any symptoms of the disease in their children. 2. Catarrhal stage. After three or four days, the symptoms of running eyes and nose will gradually disappear, but the cough will shift to spasmodic. Generally, at this time, many parents will mistake their children for just having a common cold and fever and will miss effective treatment because of this. 3. Spasmodic coughing period. This period is the most serious stage of the child’s illness, the child will often spasmodic violent cough, coughing as many as dozens of times a day, and the night will be more serious than the day, the younger the child, the more obvious the symptoms. In severe cases, vomiting and even vomiting of blood may occur. 4. Recovery period. This is the period when the condition slowly improves, the number of coughs will be reduced and the condition will slowly diminish. However, parents need to be careful during this stage because whooping cough is highly transmissible and contagious, so parents must make sure that their child’s condition does not recur. The disease is a major drain on the child’s body, so if it appears, go to the hospital quickly so as not to miss the treatment.
