Vitrectomy is a relatively routine surgery in ophthalmology, and if it is just a simple vitrectomy, the surgery usually takes about half an hour. However, this procedure is usually used for the treatment of fundus diseases, and in addition to vitrectomy, other surgical procedures are also combined, so the operation takes relatively longer. In case of vitreous hemorrhage caused by diabetes, in addition to vitrectomy, retinal laser photocoagulation will be performed to close the hemorrhage on the retinal surface. If there is retinal detachment, retinal detachment repositioning is required. If there is a macular anterior membrane or macular fissure, macular fissure repair or retinal inner boundary peeling surgery will be performed, and the overall surgery time is usually about 1-2 hours.
