Glycated hemoglobin of 6.9% is usually abnormal and beyond the normal range, and if it is accompanied by the typical symptoms of diabetes mellitus “three more and one less”, it can be considered to be diagnosed as diabetes mellitus. The current diagnostic criteria for diabetes mellitus, in addition to the value of venous blood sampling, but also added the glycated hemoglobin test value, when the glycated hemoglobin reaches or exceeds 6.5% and has the typical symptoms of diabetes mellitus, can be considered the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus. Other diagnostic criteria include fasting blood glucose greater than or equal to 7.0mmol/L, two hours after meal blood glucose greater than or equal to 11.1mmol/L, or random blood glucose greater than or equal to 11.1mmol/L, and have typical symptoms of diabetes, that is, can be diagnosed with diabetes. Of course in this we have to exclude some stress factors. If the patient is having some acute illness, fever, cold or gastroenteritis, etc., we need to wait until the condition is stabilized before re-evaluating. Patients with abnormal glycosylated hemoglobin are advised to seek prompt medical attention.
