Mifepristone is a progesterone receptor antagonist that competes for progesterone receptors in order to treat adenomyosis and is usually taken orally as prescribed. Adenomyosis is the invasion of endometrial glands and mesenchyme into the myometrium, resulting in increased menstruation, dysmenorrhea, and pelvic pain. Mifepristone plays an important role in the treatment of adenomyosis and is mainly indicated for patients with less severe symptoms of adenomyosis. However, mifepristone is associated with some adverse reactions, such as nausea, dizziness, lower abdominal pain and other symptoms. It is prohibited for patients with liver or kidney insufficiency, allergy to the product, and used with caution in patients with anemia, organ transplantation, and undergoing anticoagulation therapy. Mifepristone needs to be used under the guidance of a doctor, and should not be used blindly on its own.
