What’s wrong with itchy, wet, yellow earwax?

Itchy ears, wet and yellow earwax may be fungal otitis externa, eczema of the external auditory canal, chronic otitis media and other diseases, but also for physiological reasons.
1. Fungal otitis externa: Fungal otitis externa is mostly caused by fungal infection of the external auditory canal due to changes in the environment of the ear canal, water ingress into the ear, improper use of medication, etc. Early stage of otitis externa often manifests itself as itchy or itchy inside the ear. The ear is stuffy and swollen, and may be accompanied by a small amount of secretion.
2. Eczema of the external auditory canal: Eczema of the external auditory canal may be associated with mental factors, perverse reactions, metabolic disorders, endocrine disorders, etc. The main symptoms are repeated and persistent itching in the ear, which may be accompanied by a little oozing secretion, crusting, and swelling of the external auditory canal. If there is a lot of secretion, it can lead to hearing loss.
3. Chronic otitis media: Chronic otitis media may lead to perforation of the eardrum, and the fluid from the middle ear flows into the external auditory canal, resulting in a wet, yellowish ear that is often accompanied by itching.
4. Physiological reasons: some people with vigorous metabolism may secrete more oil, causing wet earwax.
It is recommended that patients go to the regular hospital for examination, after a clear diagnosis, actively cooperate with the doctor to treat the disease.
