Treatment of vascular pulsatile tinnitus

Patients with pulsatile tinnitus require surgical or interventional treatment for the primary disease, and patients with an unknown cause may try treatments such as white noise therapy.
Vascular pulsatile tinnitus is a type of tinnitus secondary to arterial or venous disease in which the patient experiences chronic tinnitus in rhythm with the heartbeat or pulse. The most common cause is vascular malformations. Blood vessels in the brain located near the ears and narrowed and twisted arteries and veins in the neck can cause pulsatile tinnitus.
Patients with vascular malformations require interventional or surgical repair and treatment of the blood vessels. Patients with unknown causes can be treated with white noise therapy, psychotherapy, and tinnitus retraining therapy.
Patients with pulsatile tinnitus need to go to the hospital in time for examination and treatment after the cause is clarified.
