Chinese Medicine’s explanation of Alzheimer’s disease

According to Chinese medicine, Alzheimer’s disease is caused by the loss of the medulla oblongata and the malfunctioning of the divine mechanism, which manifests itself as dullness, stupidity, low intelligence and forgetfulness. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that Alzheimer’s disease is a disease of abnormal spirit, its main mechanism for the medulla oblongata, Shenji malfunction, the light manifestation of indifference, speechless, slow reaction, good forgetfulness, the heavy manifestation of the days of speechlessness, living alone behind closed doors, speech perversion, behavioral disorders, suddenly laughing and crying, do not want to eat, do not know for days of hunger. Alzheimer’s disease with deficiency of the medulla oblongata manifests as diminished intelligence, memory loss, lumbar and knee weakness (a feeling of soreness and weakness of the lumbar and knee regions), and withered teeth and burnt hair, etc. The treatment of Alzheimer’s disease is the Seven Fortunes Drink. Deficiency of the spleen and kidney manifests as reticence, soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, poor appetite and dullness (lack of appetite, reduced food intake), loose stools (thin and unformed feces), etc. Treatment is with Huan Shao Dan (还少丹). Phlegm-clouded orifices syndrome manifests as slow expression, mental retardation, distention and fullness in the epigastrium (abdomen), excessive salivation, etc. Treatment is with Phlegm-cleansing Tang. The syndrome of internal obstruction of blood stasis manifests as slow expression, skin with interlocking nails (rough and dry skin, like the interlocking scaly nails of dried fish), etc., and is treated with Tongjiao and Qiuxue Tang. The adverse reactions and contraindications of the above drugs are not clear. If the symptoms of dementia appear, it is recommended to treat under the guidance of a professional physician, not blindly self-medication.
