What are the simple treatments for snoring

Snoring is often caused by nasal diseases, which may be related to deviated nasal septum, chronic hypertrophic rhinitis, nasal polyps and other diseases. The treatment needs to be based on the cause of the disease and the characteristics of the disease, and the choice of general treatment, drug treatment and surgical treatment. There is no simple treatment for snoring, and the treatment is different for different causes.
1. Deviated nasal septum: Deviated nasal septum bone and cartilage can lead to poor nasal ventilation, causing open-mouth breathing and snoring symptoms when the airflow hits the soft palate through the oropharynx. This disease is mainly treated by nasal septum correction and submucosal resection of nasal septum to correct the abnormal nasal structure, restore nasal ventilation and avoid snoring.
2. Chronic hypertrophic rhinitis: after repeated episodes of acute rhinitis and stimulation by adverse physical and chemical factors, the nasal mucosa, especially the mucosa of the inferior turbinate and the submucosal tissues proliferate and hypertrophy, which causes nasal obstruction and leads to the occurrence of the above snoring symptoms. Glucocorticosteroids such as nasal spray budesonide, saline nasal rinsing and inferior turbinate sclerosing agent injection can be used.
If the effect of conservative treatment is unsatisfactory, CO₂ laser and radiofrequency can be used to ablate the enlarged mucous membrane or submucous tissue of the inferior turbinate, as well as partial resection of the inferior turbinate to improve the ventilation of the nasal cavity and treat the symptoms of snoring.
3. Nasal polyps: due to infection, allergy and other factors, nasal mucous membrane hyperplasia, hypertrophy and extreme edema, forming polypoid changes. After the swelling blocks the nasal cavity, it can cause the above snoring symptoms. According to the type of lesion, endonasal endoscopic nasal polypectomy can be performed. After the volume of nasal cavity is enlarged, nasal congestion can be relieved and snoring can be controlled to different degrees.
When snoring occurs, you can actively consult a doctor for a systematic examination, make a clear diagnosis, and then follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the treatment.
