For hip surgery patients, the time it takes to remove the stitches from the surgery, for our orthopedic patients, is basically about the same. We usually remove the stitches in 14 days, which is a normal healing time for surgical wounds. However, according to the clinical situation, for example, some patients, especially the elderly patients, it is low protein, poor nutrition, sometimes his wound healing is not very good, we need to delay the removal of stitches. Especially when the stitches are removed on the 14th day of surgery, we usually remove the stitches intermittently to observe the healing of the surgical wound and then remove them according to the situation. If the surgical wound is not healing well, we can consider delaying the removal of stitches. After the surgical wound is removed, we can usually take a shower after 2-3 days of bandaging, which is nothing to worry about. Because our wounds have completely healed, there is no problem in taking care of the skin.
