Wu Ling San combined with the formula Gui Zhi Plus Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori has the effects of warming yang and consolidating the surface (warming yang qi and consolidating the surface of the muscle), which can treat conditions such as deficiency of yang qi.
Wu Ling San is composed of Poria, Poria and Zea Lin. It has the effects of inducing diuresis and seepage of dampness (promoting the flow of water to dispel dampness), warming Yang and transforming Qi (warming Yang qi in the body), and can be used for edema, abdominal distension, thirst and inability to think of water, dysuria, and vomiting and diarrhea caused by water-dampness internal suspension (water-dampness stagnating in the body) and Yang not transforming Qi (the body’s qi is blocked).
Gui Zhi Jia Xiao Zi Tang is composed of Gui Zhi, Paeoniae Lactiflorae, Ginger and other medicines, which has the efficacy of supporting yang and consolidating the surface, regulating Ying and Wei, and is mainly used for treating sun diseases with too much sweating (the wind-cold evil qi invades the human body’s muscle surface, resulting in fear of coldness and fever, pain in the head and body, and floating pulse).
The adverse effects, contraindications and precautions of the above two prescriptions are not clear. Used together, the effects of warming yang and fixing the surface (warming and tonifying yang qi and consolidating the muscle surface), dispelling dampness and diuresis, and regulating ying-wei (making the internal and external qi of the human body smooth, and each in its own way) can treat conditions of deficiency of yang qi, and water-drinking internal stagnation (the abnormal retention of water and liquid in the body).
The use of traditional Chinese medicine needs to be diagnosed by a physician, and should not be used blindly on one’s own.
