Meniere’s syndrome, the standardized name is Meniere’s disease, patients may experience vertigo, fluctuating hearing loss, tinnitus and other symptoms.
1. Vertigo: When patients with Meniere’s disease have vertigo, most of them are rotational, and the patients are mostly awake, a small number of patients with severe disease will lose consciousness, vertigo lasts from 20 minutes to 12 hours, and the patients may also have dizziness, shaking sensation and other symptoms when they have vertigo. Some patients even have nausea and vomiting, pale and other symptoms.
2. Hearing loss: the degree of hearing loss is mild in the early stage of the disease, but after several episodes of the disease, unilateral hearing loss may occur, and the degree of hearing loss is aggravated during the episodes.
3. Tinnitus: During the onset of Meniere’s disease, patients may also experience tinnitus, which is characterized by a persistent low-pitched sound of running water, siren, whistle, etc. Some patients may also have a feeling of ear stuffiness and swelling, and the tinnitus symptoms may be aggravated by vertigo episodes.
Meniere’s disease patients with the above symptoms, should be timely examination and treatment, so as not to damage the patient’s hearing. Usually, they should also combine work and rest, and keep their mood happy, and need to rest in bed when the disease attacks.
