Acupuncture points to stop nocturia

The main acupoints chosen to stop nocturia are Guanyuan, Zhongji, Bladder Yu, Kidney Yu, and Sanyinjiao, but the therapeutic effect of the acupoints is limited, and prompt medical consultation is recommended. Nocturia occurs when the disease is located in the bladder and is closely related to the kidney, spleen and liver. It is mostly caused by the dysfunction of qi and chemistry between the kidney and the bladder, and the lack of authority of the bladder to restrain it. The general treatment is to regulate the bladder and warm the spleen and kidney. The main acupoints often chosen are Guanyuan, Zhongji, Bladder Yu, Kidney Yu and Sanyinjiao. Guanyuan is the meeting point of the Ren and the Three Yin Meridians, together with the Kidney Yu point, it can cultivate the vital energy and strengthen the foundation; Zhongji point is matched with the Bladder Yu, and the Yu Yu is a matching point, which can enhance the bladder’s qi and chemistry; Sanyinjiao is the meeting point of the Three Yin Meridians, which can regulate the qi of the Spleen, Kidney, and Liver meridians to stop the urination. In case of insufficient kidney qi, Taixi and Vital Gate can be combined; and with night dreams, Hundred Clubs can be combined. If there is any discomfort, please consult a doctor immediately.
