A gallbladder diverticulum is a sac-like structure of the gallbladder wall that locally protrudes outward into the cavity. Simple gallbladder diverticula may be asymptomatic and some may present with right upper abdominal pain. The wall of congenital gallbladder diverticulum consists of three layers of normal gallbladder anatomy. The formation of congenital gallbladder diverticulum may be related to the development of its embryo and the condition of the mother during pregnancy, and is usually asymptomatic. Acquired pseudodiverticula are often caused by stone irritation and long-term chronic inflammation. Abnormal small chamber structure of the gallbladder occurs, and some patients have right upper abdominal pain or even radiation to the right shoulder, which may recur. When right upper abdomen discomfort occurs, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, follow the doctor’s instructions for further examination, and with the doctor’s help, carry out targeted treatment or therapy.
