HPV is also known as human papillomavirus and is divided into many types, each representing a type of infection. Different types of HPV infections are associated with different clinical diseases, so they represent different meanings. In the case of HPV high-risk 16 and 18 infection, it is very closely related to the development of cervical cancer in women. Patients are advised to undergo colposcopy or cervical biopsy to determine the presence or absence of cervical cancer lesions. If the test is negative but HPV 16 and 18 persist, the patient is advised to undergo a cervical cone for further exclusion. HPV 6 and 11 are very closely related to the occurrence of acromegaly in women, so if a woman has these two infections, she should undergo tests related to acromegaly.
