Is there a high cure rate for cervical cancer after loading radiation therapy?

The cure rate of postloading radiotherapy for cervical cancer depends on the stage of cervical cancer. The cure rate of early stage cervical cancer through radiotherapy is relatively high. Radiotherapy is also the treatment of choice for patients with locally advanced cervical cancer, but the cure rate is relatively low compared to early stage. Radiotherapy for cervical cancer is usually given before or after surgery, or when the cancer has spread beyond the cervix. Radiotherapy kills cancer cells with a high-energy beam. Patients with early-stage cervical cancer who receive radiation therapy have a cure rate of up to 90 percent. Patients with advanced cervical cancer are more difficult to cure, but radiation therapy can be used to prevent the cancer from metastasizing to the uterus, side of the uterus and lymph nodes. Patients may experience fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and skin changes during radiotherapy, but they usually disappear after completing the treatment. Advanced stage of cervical cancer is more difficult to be cured, but through active treatment, patients’ pain and discomfort can be relieved and their life cycle can be prolonged. Therefore, patients should actively cooperate with the treatment under the guidance of doctors according to their own conditions.
