Hysteroscopic clearance does not require hospitalization. It is usually done in a tertiary care hospital, and hysteroscopic purging alone does not require hospitalization. It is done mainly because of incomplete medical abortion or abnormalities in the uterine cavity, and it can be handled in the hospital’s outpatient clinic and does not require hospitalization. The advantage of hysteroscopic curettage is that the tissue residue can be discharged as soon as possible and the possibility of leakage is small. Therefore, hysteroscopic curettage is preferable. It can usually be done on an outpatient basis in a hospital and does not require hospitalization.
