There are lymph nodes on the shoulders. Lymph nodes are found in all parts of the body, anywhere from the head to the feet, and they can also be found on the shoulders. In case of inflammation of the lymph nodes, there can be redness, swelling, pain, and even suppuration of the lymph nodes. When there is a bacterial infection to treat, oral antibiotics are needed to treat it, such as first or second generation cephalosporins, cefixime or cefradine, etc. During the course of treatment, the lymph nodes should be observed for remission of the redness and swelling. If the redness and swelling continue to increase, and if necrosis and suppuration occur in the center of the lymph nodes, surgical excision may be required to drain the pus, change the wound, and continue oral antibiotic therapy.
