Accidentally swallowed teeth (mainly including denture or autogenous teeth) must be treated by a doctor for symptomatic treatment.
1. Autogenous teeth: generally a single tooth is swallowed by mistake as a more common situation, due to the autogenous tooth itself is relatively round and blunt generally without special treatment to be its natural excretion can be; however, if accidentally swallowed after choking, coughing, abdominal pain and other symptoms must be promptly consulted for symptomatic treatment.
2. Denture: mainly including fixed denture, removable partial denture and complete denture.
2.1 Fixed denture is relatively smooth, if there is no obvious discomfort after swallowing, it can be temporarily observed;
2.2 Removable partial denture contains sharp parts such as metal hooks, and complete denture is relatively large in size, so it may not be able to be excreted normally after accidental swallowing, and may cause serious complications such as choking or damage to the mucous membrane of the digestive tract, which should be taken out by medical practitioners in a timely manner.
Accidentally swallowed teeth are recommended to consult a doctor for a clear diagnosis and symptomatic treatment in order to avoid delaying the condition.
