A weak positive leukocyte esterase means that there is a mild inflammatory reaction in the specimen taken, because leukocyte esterase is a special enzyme that exists only in human neutrophils, and leukocyte lipase does not exist in any other cells of the body, and neutrophils are the inflammatory cells of the body, and if there are neutrophils present, it means that there is an inflammatory reaction occurring in the tissue taken. If leukocyte esterase is weakly positive, it indicates that there are a small number of neutrophils in the sampled tissue, which also indicates a mild inflammatory response. Common chronic inflammatory conditions, including chronic pharyngitis, chronic laryngitis, chronic rhinitis, and chronic gynecological inflammation, among others, are present. Weakly positive leukocyte esterase may be seen in tissues taken from these sites. A weak positive leukocyte esterase only indicates a mild inflammatory response.
