The ketogenic diet is a diet with a high percentage of fat intake (70% to 75%), a medium percentage of protein intake (20% to 27%), and a very low percentage of carbohydrate intake (3% to 5%). Its essence is to induce the body to produce ketone bodies to aid in rapid fat loss. As this diet is extremely nutritionally unbalanced, it needs to be administered under the guidance of a medical professional and dietitian. Combining it with SGLT2 inhibitors is also prohibited. It is not recommended to take the ketogenic diet on your own for weight loss, especially if you have diabetes. It is recommended that obese patients reduce weight scientifically under the guidance of a physician and control their weight through reasonable diet and moderate exercise.
