What does it mean when a bone scan shows increased radioactivity?

A bone scan is an ECT examination of bone, which detects the level of radionuclide uptake in the bone, thereby making observations of the level of blood circulation and metabolism in the bone, and making a diagnosis of metabolic diseases, tumors, and metastases in the bone. A bone scan showing increased radioactivity means that the blood vessels around the bone tissue are proliferating, blood flow is abundant, and the metabolism of the bone is at an abnormally active level. This condition is generally indicative of a metabolically active bone condition and is commonly seen in bone tumors, both benign and malignant, and can also be seen in bone metastases, and then certain metabolically exuberant bone diseases as well. In addition, the end stage of fracture, the growth of the fracture site and plasticity will also produce metabolically active manifestations. The diagnosis of this report should be based on the systemic symptoms and the doctor’s examination and history.
