Do you still need a colonoscopy if you’re fine from a full abdominal CT?

CT of the whole abdomen is fine, but also used to do colonoscopy, because the two examinations are functionally different.

CT of the whole abdomen is mainly to observe whether there are occupying lesions in the abdomen such as benign tumors in the abdominal cavity, whether there are infectious diseases such as abscesses, whether there is fluid or deformity and obstruction, etc. CT of the whole abdomen is fine and can basically exclude these diseases, but CT of the whole abdomen lacks the ability to identify some of the small lesions occurring on the surface of the intestinal tract.

Enteroscopy refers to the use of inspection probe deep into the intestine, can let the examiner visualize the situation of the intestinal lining, even relatively small white spots, ulcers can be seen more clearly, for clinical diagnosis has a great role, but also to make up for the part of the whole abdomen CT examination fails to cover, especially those who have abdominal discomfort or defecation abnormality should be more perfect examination.
