The cure rate of Langerhans disease in pediatric patients is not clear. If the age is old and the organs involved are few, most of them can be cured; if the age is relatively young and the organs involved are many, the prognosis is poor, and most of them will leave sequelae.
Langerhans disease is Langerhans cell histiocytosis, which is a group of abnormal proliferation of dendritic cells, the clinical manifestations of a variety of, mostly in infants and children.
1. If it is a single-system disease, such as bone, lymph node, skin, the remission rate is relatively high, and the treatment can be achieved by surgical scraping and local radiotherapy.
2. If the disease is multi-systemic, chemotherapy and glucocorticosteroids, such as vincristine and methylprednisolone, can be chosen, which have a long course of treatment and a high recurrence rate.
The younger the age of onset of the disease, the more organs are involved, the lower the cure rate and the worse the prognosis. Those who are older than 5 years old have less organ invasion and can be partially cured, such as simple bone damage.
When you find out that you have Langerhans disease, take your child to the hospital in time for regular treatment.
