Complete healing of rib fractures generally takes about three months, but the exact healing time needs to be determined based on the patient’s age, physical condition, nutritional status and degree of fracture injury. Rib fractures are more common in clinical practice and are usually caused by direct violence or trauma resulting in painful local swelling and restricted movement, often manifested as severe local pain induced by deep breathing. If the fracture end is not significantly displaced and there is no internal organ damage, conservative treatment with rib fixation belt can be used for protection. In the early stage, when the pain is severe, oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs can be used for symptomatic treatment, and the pain can be significantly relieved after 1-2 weeks, and the external rib fixation band can be released after 3-4 weeks. It is important to take regular treatment after rib fracture to avoid missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis, which may cause serious complications such as hemopneumothorax or lung damage.
