Sequelae may exist in some patients after discharge from the hospital after cure of neocoronavirus pneumonia, and they are gender-neutral. Both males and females may have respiratory problems, heart failure and neuropsychiatric manifestations. 1. Respiratory system: Since the neocoronavirus mainly attacks the lungs, there may not be any obvious respiratory problems for mild patients; severe or critical patients may have shortness of breath and other ventilation limitation problems due to fibrosis of the lung tissue. 2. Cardiovascular system: The limited function of the lungs increases the burden on the heart, causing diseases such as hypertension, coronary atherosclerosis, or aggravation of existing heart disease, ultimately leading to arrhythmia or heart failure. 3. Nervous system: Neocoronavirus may cause damage to the nervous system, which may result in abnormal functioning of the nervous system, including mental lethargy; loss of taste and smell; and cognitive and memory loss. Sequelae of neocoronavirus pneumonia are related to personal and social stresses, as well as to different clinical diagnoses and maneuvers during treatment. For patients who have been cured of C.N.C.P., it is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible if they feel unwell after discharge from the hospital. Tip: The terms “neocoronavirus pneumonia” and “new coronavirus pneumonia” mentioned in this article were renamed to “new coronavirus infection” on December 26, 2022, as announced by the National Health Commission.
