Sudden deafness is caused by occlusion of blood vessels in the ear, such as thromboembolism, or damage to the inner ear caused by viral infections. Patients usually experience tinnitus, a feeling of stuffiness in the ear within a short period of time, followed by hearing loss, which is clinically known as sudden deafness. Generally speaking, it is recommended to use anticoagulant and antiviral drugs in the early stage of the disease, together with high-dose hormone shock therapy. Then some blood-activating and nerve-nourishing drugs can be used, such as gonaldo with methylcobalamin infusion. If it is a chronic hearing impairment, it is related to age, vascular nerve degeneration, there is no effective way to treat this condition, if it affects the hearing in the later stage, the patient can choose to wear hearing aids, and if necessary, do cochlear implantation to improve the hearing.
