What is the procedure for myopic surgery?

There are two main types of myopic surgery: refractive surgery of the cornea and intraocular refractive surgery, and the specific surgical process is related to the surgical method.
The refractive surgery of cornea generally includes corneal excimer laser surgery and femtosecond laser surgery. The surgical process mainly involves surface anesthesia, followed by excimer laser or femtosecond laser operation, which makes use of the laser to cut the stroma layer or surface layer of the cornea, in order to change the radius of curvature of the cornea and the refractive status of the cornea, so as to achieve the purpose of correcting myopia.
Intraocular refractive surgery includes lens implantation and lens replacement. The surgical procedure involves making a corneal incision after anesthesia on the surface of the eye, followed by implantation of an IOL before the original lens or removal of the own lens and implantation of the IOL into the capsular bag, similar to cataract surgery.
Myopic patients are advised to seek timely medical attention to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions to choose the appropriate treatment.
