Difference between parotid tumor and lymphoma

Parotid tumor is a proliferative lesion of parotid gland, which can be divided into benign and malignant tumors, of which benign tumors account for about 75%. Its causative factor is unknown, but currently it is considered to be related to viral infection and radiation, which can be diagnosed by checking the ultrasound and CT, and can be clarified by fine-needle puncture or intraoperative rapid pathology. Treatment is mainly based on surgical resection, which may need to be combined with chemotherapy and radiotherapy according to the pathological results. Lymphoma is a malignant tumor of lymphatic and hematological system, which mainly manifests as painless enlargement of lymph nodes all over the body, enlarged liver and spleen, and may be accompanied by fever, night sweats, emaciation and other symptoms. The causative factor is considered to be related to EBV infection, which can be clarified by puncture biopsy of lymph nodes or biopsy of excised enlarged lymph nodes. Treatment is mainly through chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted drug therapy, and some cases need to be treated with surgery, such as removing the spleen to increase platelets.
