Headaches, simply put, are a headache for doctors. Often, friends and family call and ask, “What medication should I take for a headache?” Upon hearing this question, the average doctor is unable to give a clear answer. Because there are less than a hundred causes of headaches, what tests have not been done, how can know why the headache how to use medicine ah? As shown in the figure, this simple classification can point to dozens of diseases, and then detailed division can really have hundreds of diseases. So many diseases that cause headaches, some are fine without treatment, some will die without treatment; some can be treated, some can not be cured. In fact, the diagnosis and exclusion of so many diseases require instrumentation. Today we will talk about what are the methods of brain vascular examination, so that we can better understand the doctor to give the examination recommendations. 1, carotid artery and vertebral artery ultrasound The blood vessels in the neck supplying the brain usually have two carotid arteries and two vertebral arteries, a total of four blood vessels, any one of which is occluded or stenosed can cause corresponding infarction foci. Carotid and vertebral artery ultrasound is non-invasive, poorly accurate, and can estimate blood velocity and blood flow. The cost of the examination is about 200 RMB in our hospital. 2.TCD(Transcranial ultrasound Doppler) Bilateral anterior cerebral arteries, middle cerebral arteries, posterior cerebral arteries, double vertebral arteries and basilar arteries can be examined by Doppler to observe the speed of the blood flow and the shape of the spectrum to determine whether there is any stenosis or compensatory condition. However, Doppler is closely related to the level of the operator. Transcranial ultrasound Doppler is non-invasive and has poor accuracy. The cost of the test in our hospital is about 150 dollars. MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography) is non-invasive and can be performed without contrast, and its clarity is less than that of CTA (CT angiography). If the intravenous injection of contrast medium, to be a little better than not using the effect. The cost of the test at our hospital is about$1,700 for the head and$1,700 for the neck with contrast injection. Without contrast, it costs about 900 RMB for the head and 900 RMB for the neck. 4. CTA (CT angiography) requires intravenous injection of contrast material, has radiation exposure, and has better clarity than MRA. It costs about RMB 1,400 for the head and RMB 1,400 for the neck. 5.DSA(Total Cerebral Angiography) It is the gold standard for diagnosing vascular disease (the clearest means). The femoral artery or radial artery is punctured and a contrast agent is injected to visualize the blood vessels, so that the degree of narrowing of the blood vessels can be seen more clearly. This invasive procedure requires 24 hours of bed rest after the femoral artery puncture, as well as pressure bandages and radiation exposure at the puncture site, and is usually performed only when clinically indicated. The cost of the examination in our hospital (head and neck together), about 7000-8000 yuan. Suggestions and choices of examination methods: 1. If there is no clinical symptom, just worry, body checking, or screening, ultrasound is feasible. 2. 2, ultrasound found problems, need to further clarify the vascular condition, feasible MRA examination. 3.If you need internal medicine treatment, or surgical treatment, or if you can’t tolerate the whole cerebral arteriography, head and neck CTA examination is feasible. 4.If surgical treatment is needed, or if you want to clarify the vascular condition, DSA examination is feasible. Whether to accept DSA examination, need to be decided by the doctor. In today’s rapid development of modern medicine, doctors no longer need to look and smell to make vague judgments, the use of advanced equipment and instruments can improve diagnosis and treatment.
