The nodule depends on the specific site where it occurs. If it is a nodule located in the thyroid gland, the decision depends on the size. A simple nodule with no clinical symptoms can be temporarily observed. If the nodule is gradually increasing in size, it may cause pressure on the trachea, causing a significant sensation of gas and affecting daily life and work, and there is a suspicion of malignancy or multiple nodules with secondary hyperthyroidism. In this case, surgery is indicated and the majority of the thyroid gland should be removed and an intraoperative cryopathological examination should be performed. In the case of malignant lesions, the lymph nodes in the neck should be cleared. After surgery, thyroid function should be monitored regularly and hormone replacement therapy with oral eugenol should be given.
