Is it normal for babies to lie flat on their backs and keep their legs straight?

It is not necessarily normal for babies to lie down with their legs straight, but it may also be a sign of high muscle tone in the early stage of cerebral palsy. If the baby occasionally straightens his/her legs when lying down, and there is no obvious abnormality in his/her mental state and mobility, it means that the baby is more active, which is a normal phenomenon. If the baby always tenses his legs when lying down, it may be the manifestation of high muscle tone in the early stage of cerebral palsy. Babies with high muscle tone tend to tense their lower limbs, sometimes like a wooden stick, and occasionally cross their lower limbs, and their body will be upward when they pull up the baby. When standing up, babies with high dystonia will have their necks tilted back, their bodies bowed, and their voluntary activities will be reduced. If you find your baby lying down and tensing his legs too often, and the independent activities are obviously reduced, parents are advised to bring their babies to the hospital for consultation and treatment.
