How a cervical disc herniation should be treated surgically

Cervical disc herniation leads to spinal cord compression, which results in sensory and telekinetic disorders below the plane of compression, such as numbness and weakness of both lower limbs, tightness in the chest and abdomen, and in severe cases, paralysis of both lower limbs. Conservative treatment is the mainstay in the early stage, and surgery is the mainstay in the late stage. The timing of surgery is good in the rapid progression of the lesion, mainly for surgical release of the spinal cord compression, and implantation of bone fusion and internal fixation, or artificial cervical disc replacement.
