A 6mm solid lung nodule is not considered serious based on size alone. Lung nodules are high-density shadows found in the lungs on chest CT or X-ray, varying in shape, with clear or unclear margins, and generally not exceeding 3cm. For 5-10mm lung nodules are generally defined as small nodules. The majority of lung nodules are benign and only a small percentage are malignant. Generally benign nodules are small in diameter with clear margins. For a solid lung nodule of 6mm, the diameter is small, and a benign nodule is considered to be highly probable and, overall, not considered serious. For a 6mm lung nodule with imaging features such as irregular margins, peripheral burrs, and internal visible blood vessel penetration, one needs to be alert to the possibility of a malignant nodule, i.e., early lung cancer. For 6mm solid lung nodule, there is no need to worry too much, regular review and follow-up observation.
