What is chronic inner ear vestibular disease?

Chronic inner ear vestibular disease may refer to inner ear disorders such as otolithiasis, Meniere’s disease and labyrinthitis. 1. Otolithiasis: Due to the dislodgment of otoliths from the inner ear, coupled with a change in body position, the dislodged otoliths enter into an abnormal position of the semicircular canals, thus causing a sudden onset of short-term vertigo symptoms. 2. Meniere’s disease: Meniere’s disease is caused by a circulatory disorder of the inner ear labyrinth, which affects the equilibrium function and positional perception of the vestibular structures in the membranous labyrinth. Ménière’s disease is caused by fluid in the membranous labyrinth, which results in abnormal balance function and position perception and manifests as episodic vertigo. 3. Labyrinthitis: Frequent otitis media episodes will cause damage and erosion of the middle ear cavity structure, stimulating damage to the vestibular organs of the inner ear, followed by inflammation or fistula of the inner ear labyrinth. Chronic inner ear vestibular disease, should be timely to the hospital, systematic examination after a clear diagnosis.
