Should breast cancer patients eat more fish?

Yes.

Fish is a high-quality protein source food high in protein and low in saturated fatty acids, which is very beneficial for meeting the protein needs of breast cancer patients without increasing the risk of hyperlipidemia. In addition, fish is rich in eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), both EPA and DHA are Omega-3 fatty acids that may have beneficial effects on the condition of breast cancer patients. In one study, fish oil was found to help maintain patients’ immunity and reduce inflammatory responses.

Fish rich in EPA and DHA are mainly sea fish, such as cod and salmon, which can be eaten in appropriate amounts. Freshwater fish are also rich in sea bass.
