What can be done to make trigeminal neuralgia attacks less frequent?

Trigeminal neuralgia is recognized by the medical profession as one of the most painful, stubborn and difficult to treat diseases of the nervous system, and is recognized as the “No. 1 pain in the world”. It not only brings physical pain to the patient, but also mental torture. Patients are in fear of painful attacks all day long, and some of them even have thoughts of dying. Professor Wang reminded patients should actively do their own psychological adjustment, in diet and living like a healthy person, but in the winter, trigeminal neuralgia patients must do “four warm”, that is, eat warm, head warm, body warm, feet warm. The first thing you should do is to eat warm food and avoid cold food in winter. Therefore, trigeminal neuralgia patients should eat more high-calorie, high-protein food, such as beef, mutton, dog meat, rabbit meat, chicken, milk, eggs, etc.. However, you should not eat too much smoked and fried and spicy food, and you should not eat too much hot pot. To drink light black tea, do not drink cold drinks, so as not to cause trigeminal neuralgia attacks. 2, head warmth In winter, if you do not pay attention to head warmth, it is easy to trigger a cold, headache, trigeminal neuralgia, or even serious cerebrovascular disease. Therefore, trigeminal neuralgia patients must take measures to protect their heads from cold and warmth. Pay attention to the wind in the aisle, walk sideways and protect your head with your hands when the wind is strong. Older people should wear a hat when they go out every day. The temperature of the water used to wash hair should be kept above 35 degrees Celsius, and the hair should be dried with a hairdryer immediately after washing. 3, body warmth into the winter, people should add clothes in time with the change in outside temperature. The lining of the cotton jacket is suitable for light weight, strong insulation of silk, down, cashmere, acrylic cotton and other materials. Normally, we should go outdoors more often, adhere to physical exercise, so that the blood and Qi flow, circulation, unimpeded, accelerated metabolism, torso warmth, in order to improve the ability to withstand cold. 4, feet warm “heat from the head to disperse, cold from the feet.” The human body is the first to feel cold is the feet. When the feet are cold, it will lead to vasoconstriction of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract through nerve reflexes, reduced blood flow and decreased anti-disease function, thus inducing acute recurrence of many old diseases including trigeminal neuralgia. Therefore, trigeminal neuralgia patients should keep their shoes and socks dry and warm in winter. They should also sit less and walk more to promote smooth blood flow, and massage their feet with warm water for 10 minutes before going to bed to improve the body’s immunity.
