Standard treatment plan for conservative treatment of osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis is more prevalent in the knee joint, usually after the age of 60, and is more common in women than men. The underlying pathology is the wear and tear of the articular cartilage, which leads to pain and limited movement of the joint. Since wear and tear of the articular cartilage is the basis of the lesion, the core of conservative treatment is to reduce weight bearing and activity, thereby reducing further damage to the articular cartilage. Specific conservative treatment measures can be found in the following programs: 1. Rest: Reduce weight bearing, walking, walking up and down stairs and squatting. 2, physical therapy: heat, intermediate frequency electricity as well as ultrashort wave and other physical therapy measures 3, straight leg raising exercises (for knee osteoarthritis): sitting position, knee straight, foot upward hook tight, straighten and raise the leg, 10 sets of exercises per day, 30-50 times per set. 4.Drugs for arthritis: Celecoxib (Celebrex), etc. 5.Drugs to nourish joint cartilage: glucosamine sulfate. 6.Drugs to lubricate the joints and protect the joint cartilage: intra-articular injection of sodium vitrate once a week, five weeks as a course of treatment.
