Special remedy for long cough

Patients with a prolonged cough and a dry cough without phlegm can use codeine, which has cough suppressant effects and can relieve cough symptoms. If the cough has phlegm, expectorant medications such as bromoxynil hydrochloride tablets and acetylcysteine capsules can be used. If the cough is severe and the sputum is sticky, oral aminoglutethimide can dilute the sputum and promote the discharge of sputum. If there are obvious dry rales or sputum sounds on auscultation in both lungs, antibiotic drugs can be used to control intrapulmonary infection, such as penicillins, cephalosporins, macrolides and quinolones, but quinolones are not suitable for adolescents under 18 years of age. If the above methods are not effective, sputum culture and drug sensitivity tests can be performed to select the most sensitive antibiotic drugs for symptomatic treatment, and if necessary, a combination of drugs or even glucocorticoids can be used to reduce inflammation.
