There is a difference between cervical smear and TCT, the difference lies in the sampling method, the processing method after sampling and the accuracy of the test results.
1. Sampling method: Cervical smear is the traditional way of checking, through simple scraping and sampling, while TCT is to use professional sampler to sample.
2. Sampling method: after sampling cervical scraping, the smear is made directly for observation, while after sampling TCT, the collector needs to be put into the vial containing cell preservation liquid for rinsing and other treatments, and then observation can be carried out.
3. Accuracy of test results: the accuracy of cervical smear is lower than that of TCT, generally speaking, the accuracy of cervical smear is about 70%, while the accuracy of TCT can reach about 95%.
