Postoperative chemotherapy for gallbladder cancer needs to be formulated according to the pathological stage and intraoperative condition, which may be 4 to 8 times.
Generally speaking, 4 to 6 times of postoperative chemotherapy is enough if the pathology of gallbladder cancer is early stage. If it is in the middle stage, postoperative chemotherapy is routinely given 6 times. If it is advanced stage, only 6~8 times of chemotherapy is needed after operation.
Chemotherapy is a routine adjuvant treatment after tumor resection for gallbladder cancer, and usually adopts fluorouracil or gemcitabine treatment plan. Radiation therapy can prevent metastasis of residual cancer lesions to the liver after surgery, and arterial infusion chemotherapy can also be taken. During the postoperative chemotherapy, each time, a comprehensive examination is needed to detect problems in time and take appropriate treatment.
For postoperative gallbladder cancer with integrated measures such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy, patients may have long-term survival. Drug use should be under the guidance of professional physicians.
