Treatment of abscesses

Abscess is an infectious disease and the main treatment option is surgical incision and drainage. In the case of superficial abscesses, the surgical operation is relatively simple. In the case of abscesses of substantial organs, surgical treatment under the support of general anesthesia is required, and during the operation it is also necessary to retain the pus for bacterial smear and culture and identification, and targeted anti-infective treatment. The treatment should be heavy-handed and intensive in the early stages, with a combined anti-infective approach. Intravenous nutrition, including fatty milk and amino acids, should be provided to strengthen the patient and improve resistance to the disease. If the abscess cavity gradually decreases or the drainage flow gradually decreases, the tube can also be gradually withdrawn or extubated. In the acute stage, intra-abscess flushing or irrigation flushing can also be chosen to promote early drainage of pus.
